Composer and Conductor Peyman Farzinpour, Video Artist Francesca Bonci, and Cellist Nara Shahbazyan collaborate on “sogno che sogno....” “I dream that I dream”)

I wrote this piece for solo cello for the wonderful cellist, Nara Shahbazyan, to whom the composition is dedicated. I was then incredibly fortunate to collaborate with the brilliant video artist, Francesca Bonci, who created this beautiful video for the piece. So grateful to both Francesca and Nara for their amazing artistry!

The title of the piece, "I dream that I dream..." is a translation into Italian from the original French "je rêve que je rêve" ("I dream that I dream"), which is from the Paul Eluard poem "Mon amour pour avoir figuré mes désirs.".

Sogno che Sogno....
Peyman Farzinpour: Composer
Francesca Bonci: Video Artist
Nara Shahbazyan: Cellist

Here is what Francesca says about her video:

I made this video a few years ago, before we were all engulfed in the pandemic.  I had been welcomed into Ensemble / Parallax and we also planned to participate in some future events and new live projects. Does anyone remember the one at Jamestown Arts Center in Rhode Island, that was cancelled.. Although my aesthetic has evolved a lot over the years, I'm happy that the video is published!

Thank You 💜
